Protyre understands that not everyone can travel to a garage for their essential vehicle maintenance needs during the COVID-19 outbreak, be it due to self-isolation or because you’re a keyworker or community volunteer who simply can’t find the time. It’s for this reason that our garages are not only open and here to help, our front-line teams are ready to come to you to help as well with dedicated mobile fitting and collect and deliver services. Whether you come here or we go there, we are here to help keep your vehicle safe.

Find Your Local Protyre

Although we’re all using our cars less at the moment, the journeys that we do make are ones that really matter. Following the government’s announcement of the six-month MOT extension, it’s more important than ever to keep your car roadworthy and safe for yourself, your passengers, and other road users. So, during this period of self-isolation and social distancing, it is important that we still carry out essential checks on your car. We have provided a Vehicle Safety Check Guide that helps you perform these checks at home. If your checks identify required work and you cannot come to our garage for help, then let us come to you.
 

Do I need to be at home for a mobile fitter to come to me?

Not at all. We can come to your home, workplace, or wherever you happen to be – as long as there is enough room for our experienced fitters to operate safely then we are more than happy to come to you.
 
Alternatively, we can arrange a collect and deliver service from home or work.
 

What should I do when Protyre arrives?

If your car is at home, we advise a ‘dead drop’ key handover; once our mobile fitter arrives place they key on the doorstep, or another safe location, to avoid any hand-to-hand contact. We also ask that you remove the locking wheel nut from inside the car and leave this with the key.
 
If your car is at work or another non-residential location, please leave the keys and locking wheel nut somewhere easily accessible for the fitter (on a wheel for example) and stand a safe distance away (at least 2m) when our technician arrives.
 

What precautions are Protyre taking to safeguard its customers?

Whether they’re working in branch or on location, all of our technicians are taking care to wash their hands before and after each job, using new gloves for every vehicle they work on, and using new seat covers for any cars under the collect and delivery service. As well as this, our fleet of mobile fitting vehicles are cleaned inside and out regularly throughout the day.
